Young warriors recognised

An inspiring individual can have a profound impact on the lives of others and Col Watego, who leads the TRYP program, has encouraged many young indigenous people in Bourke to aim high.

The TRYP program’s full title is To Reach Your Potential, and teaches young people life skills, personal discipline, leadership and respect for others through a program based on military drills and philosophies.

In March, a group of local young men took part in boot camp style training in Bourke.

This week an awards ceremony was held to congratulate and recognise their achievements in successfully completing the “Tribal Warrior” Leadership and Teambuilding Development.
