SES volunteers spent all weekend in Bourke learning how to extract car crash victims from vehicles.
State Emergency Service trainers from Broken Hill spent Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday putting local volunteers through a course using all the latest cutting and hydraulic rescue gear.
Under the watchful eye of Regional SES Manager Rod Whalan of Cobar and Bourke Local Controller Steve Walsh, a dozen volunteers gained vital skills using powerful cutting and bending gear.
