Macquarie Marshes release could make it to Bourke

Weir pool levels at Brewarrina and Bourke should rise and the Macquarie Marshes wetlands will get a much needed boost after the release of environmental water from the Burrendong Dam.
The release is part of a three-year water strategy recommended by the government’s Macquarie River Environmental Water Advisory Group (EWAG).
Water used for the environment flows through the Macquarie River from Burrendong Dam, through to the Macquarie Marshes, and then to the lower reaches of the Macquarie, near Carinda.
