The Outback owes a great debt to the bravery of early aviators and local flying legend Bill Taylor was one of those who helped open up the ‘back country’.
Bill passed away earlier this year and this Saturday 3rd November a tribute will be held at the Nyngan Aerodrome to honour his extraordinary contribution to outback aviation.
Bill was a regular visitor to Bourke, flying to remote stations with his charter business, Central Western Aviation.
Hazleton Airlines, until recently one of the operators still operating from outback communities, is linked to the work of Bill Taylor through his flying and business partner Jim Hazleton.
