Bourke High School student and Maranguka Dance group leader Dane Edwards has been nominated as Bourke’s Junior Citizen of the Year for 2025.
Despite his young age, Dane is already a leader of the Maranguka Dance Group that performs corroboree dance across Australia, showcasing the songs and stories of country.
Dane has been described as a credit to his culture, family and community and through his commitment to dance and culture, Dane continually represents his family, community and heritage with pride and strength. (…)
