Brewarrina opens its arms to new arrivals
The Brewarrina community put out the welcome mat last week, giving new residents the chance to meet the neighbours and be introduced to the people, clubs and organisations that make Bre tick.
Twenty five new residents attended the event, which was hosted by the Brewarrina Shire Council and held at the Brewarrina RSL.
Mayor Vivian Slack-Smith said the evening was an opportunity for the community to reach out to the new arrivals and showcase all that the Bre community has to offer.
“It was a wonderful evening and a chance for everyone to mingle and meet our new community members,” Councillor Slack-Smith said.
“Thank you to our councillors, community groups, local organisations and residents who attended the evening.
“I would also like to thank Retta Ferguson and her wonderful crew for catering for the evening and the Brewarrina RSL Club for allowing us to use their venue for this event.
“A very special thankyou to our amazing Brewarrina Shire Council staff for putting together such an amazing evening and for making it so special for all our new residents,” she said.
