Congratulations to Lisa Rankmore and her team of helpers for organising NAIDOC activities for the aged care patients at Bourke District Hospital last week.

Over the last few years Lisa has been running volunteer activities with Bourke’s aged care patients during NAIDOC week.

This year the team was very appropriate – ‘For our Elders’.

During the week the patients have been involved in heaps of activities such as tie dye their shirts as seen in the group photo, painting boomerangs and emu eggs, and making an aboriginal flag.

Lisa also organised the schools to decorate a hand each, which is displayed out the front of the hospital and Riley Parnaby from Bourke High Clontarf read the acknowledgement to country.

Lisa said that she wanted to thank the Bourke Thiyama-li team for their donations for the activities. Thanks also to all those who supported the activities – including Tracy Lollback for helping and to Sonya Otte and the hospital staff and all the families of the patients.
