Donna Jeffries wins award for Indigenous excellence

Brewarrina councillor Donna Jeffries has been recognised for her work with indigenous communities and health.
Mrs Jeffries was a finalist in the national Dreamtime Awards, which celebrate indigenous excellence.
She is executive director of Maari Ma Health and said she was honoured to have been recognised in the Excellence in Health category at the prestigious awards held in Sydney on Friday.
Donna acknowledged the inspiration she was give as a teenager by her auntie, Lorraine Jeffries, who encouraged her as a teenager to pursue a career in nursing.
