Easter is Bourke’s time to shine
Once again, the Bourke Easter Festival was a huge success, with organisers, volunteers, sponsors, and council staff throwing their energy behind the event - and it certainly paid off.
The number of visitors was still being tallied up, but organisers of every event said the crowds this year were bigger than the year before.
A cool change, a packed program, and plenty of sunshine encouraged the spectator numbers and festival participation.
Bourke Council General Manager, Leonie Brown, said once again, the Bourke community proved it knew how to throw out the welcome mat and put on a good time for locals and visitors alike.
“The Back O’Bourke Easter Festival got off to a great start on Good Friday morning with the Colour Run, which by all accounts was absolutely fabulous,” Mrs Brown said.
“There were more people in town on the Friday morning generally, and the crowd numbers were up for the Colour Run, which was a great way to kick things off. […]
