Former CEO of RDA – Orana Megan Dixon appointed as new General Managerof Walgett Shire Council
After an extensive advertising campaign Walgett Shire Council has appointed a new General Manager to replace the Acting GM Hugh Percy.
The new Walgett Shire General Manager is Megan Dixon, who has resigned as CEO of Regional Development Australia (RDA) Australia to take up the position.
Following more than six years of service with RDA Orana as chief executive officer, Ms Dixon has decided to pursue this new opportunity in local government at Walgett.
Ms Dixon said she has a passion for regional NSW and is excited by the opportunity to take up the role of General Manager of Walgett Shire Council.
“This is where I can use my skills and experience to drive positive outcomes for the Shire and its people,” Ms Dixon said.
Walgett Shire Council Mayor, Jane Keir, welcomed Ms Dixon’s appointment as General Manager.
“We received a large number of applications for the position, which were of high calibre; however, the decision to appoint Megan was a unanimous one by all councillors,” Councillor Keir said.
“Megan’s extensive experience and proven leadership will be invaluable in guiding our Council and community forward,” she said.
“The Council is confident that Ms Dixon’s appointment will bring positive outcomes and enhance the delivery of services to the residents of the Walgett Shire.”
Ms Dixon said that the recruitment process at Walgett was a very positive process, and that she had been lucky enough to get a face-to-face interview with all the Walgett Shire Councillors. […]
