From coastal cop to the Outback beat

Inspector Dean has come to Bourke from the Central Coast, looking for a new challenge, having never worked in inland regional NSW before.
“My partner, myself, our three dogs and one cat, moved over to Bourke last week,” Inspector Dean said.
“I’ve worked for most of my career in metro areas and I needed a change. Longevity in policing needs that, and I had been at my previous job for 15 years. I thought the only way I can mix things up is to make a move.”

Inspector Dean’s partner, Todd Bailey has just taken on the role of manager at the Bourke PCYC, which will see them both as a big part of the Bourke community.
“We are really looking forward to meeting people and becoming involved in the community,” Inspector Dean said. (…)
