Bourke’s Kevin Hatch continues his good form in his chosen sport of clay target shooting, chalking up another major win.
After enjoying success at a clay target shooting event which took place at the Dubbo Clay Target Club two weekends ago, Kevin has now qualified for the Western Zone team for the fourth year straight.
A large turnout of 63 shooters attended the Down the Line Team Selection hosted by the NSW Clay Target Association Western Zone at the Dubbo Shooting range on Saturday and Sunday 22nd and 23rd March.
Kevin won the Veteran’s section of the shoot and now progresses to a Zone competition to try out for the New South Wales state side. Picked in the Veteran’s side, he will compete in Wagga Wagga.
“There’s three of us on the team. I’m in with Mark Dutton from Cobar and Cliff Overton from Narromine,” Kevin said.
“We will head down there and try and qualify for the state team to go to the Nationals next year which are also in Wagga.”
Also heading to Wagga to try their luck are Men’s team Bryan Manns and Matt Stokes from Cobar, Brett Trindall and Dallas Codrington (Brewarrina) and Daniel Hoarder of Dubbo.
The Ladies side comprises Helen Overton and Macka Codrington (Brewarrina) and Kylie Rees (Pooncarie). Identify Barraclough and Darcy Manns from Cobar will make up the Junior side.
