Preselected Nationals candidate Jamie Chaffey is the only known runner for the seat of Parkes at the coming Federal election and Mr Chaffey has already spent 7 months touring the electorate and getting to know people.

A previous Mayor of Gunnedah, and former small businessman, Mr Chaffey is seeking to replace retiring member Mark Coulton who has held the seat of Parkes for the past 17 years.

A boilermaker by trade, Mr Chaffey is a local businessman and prior to his involvement in local government, Mr Chaffey served as president of the Gunnedah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He is married with four children and said it was the right time for him to enter Federal politics.

Last week Mr Chaffey swung through the western parts of the Parkes electorate and conducted several interviews with Outback Radio 2WEB and The Western Herald. […]
