Lightning Ridge District Bowling Club – Darren Richards is Major Singles Champ
Darren Richards is the 2022 Lightning Ridge Major Singles Champion after defeating Tony Lamb 25-18 in a hard-fought major singles final at the Lightning Ridge District Bowling Club on Saturday.
After a year of interruptions due to COVID restrictions and floods, , twenty-one bowlers hit the green for the first of the two-day knockout event on the weekend.
As the final event of the year, the matchups were highly competitive and an opportunity to take out the last match of the season.
Unfortunately, 19 bowlers had to walk away without a place, but you can be sure they’ll be back next year.
The mild weekend weather provided ideal conditions, and a great time was had by all who played.
While this tournament may be the last of the club’s official matches for 2022, all bowlers are preparing to roll up for regular social bowls.
