Judy Melonas and her band of merry volunteers come together every fortnight at the Nobbies Pub to sell raffle tickets to raise money for community groups such as the Royal Flying Doctors, the Aged Care Unit, and the Lightning Ridge Pre-School.

Judy thanked all those who made donations throughout the year.

The regular patrons who supported the raffles every fortnight, the hotel staff and management and the helpers that freely gave their time to make sure that things run smoothly.

The Royal Flying Doctors received $3,500; Opal FM and the Lightning Ridge Pre-School received $800. An outdoor setting worth $2,500 was awarded to the Aged Care Unit at the Lightning Ridge Hospital.

This year’s final raffle on Sunday saw a great turnout of people to support the great work the girls do, and Santa made an appearance handing out lollies to the kids.
