Bourke High School’s new Principal is an old Principal, with a namesake to match.

Robert Bourke finds himself back at the helm of Bourke High School, after recording a terrible track record in retirement.

Rob first retired from Kempsey’s Melville High School in 2011, only to find himself out of a short 15-month retirement and in the role of Principal at Bourke High School in 2013.

During that posting, Mr Andrew Ryder worked under the leadership of Rob Bourke, in the role of Deputy Principal. Rob fulfilled his three-year term at Bourke High School by 2016 and made a second attempt at retirement.

Rob’s departure from Bourke High on this occasion was exceptionally brief, seeing him return the following term to accompany a group of student on a school excursion to the snow.

It was after that event Rob says he rode his motor bike out of Bourke and into retirement.

Fast forward to term 2, 2021 and former Bourke High Principal Andrew Ryder has taken on the role of Principal of Melville High School, ending a seven-year term in Bourke.
