Vivian Slack-Smith re-elected as Mayor of Bre Shire
Vivian Slack-Smith was elected for her second term as Mayor of Brewarrina Shire last Friday, with Angelo Pippos re-elected unopposed as Deputy Mayor.
Councillor Slack-Smith defeated Councillor Donna Jeffries in an election for the position, and said she was grateful for the trust and support from councillors and the community.
“I am deeply honoured and humbled by the faith the people of Brewarrina have shown in me and I pledge to work tirelessly to fulfil the aspirations and expectations of our community,” Councillor Slack-Smith said.
“Together, we will continue to build a prosperous, inclusive, and vibrant Shire.
“My highest priorities will be to continue building Brewarrina as a happy community where people have a sense of wellbeing.
“That comes about through employment and services, so I will also have as a priority the continuation of funding for maintaining our road network. With the dry times already here, we are starting to see a deterioration in our roads, so we will continue to seek funding to maintain all our roads. […]
